Ameema Talat

Ameema Talat is a Master’s student at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), pursuing a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy. She is undertaking her studies across two campuses, with her first year in Bologna, Italy, and her second year in Washington, D.C. Building on her academic background in East Asian foreign diplomacy and international affairs, Ameema seeks to explore the intersection of developmental diplomacy and global security dynamics through analysis in economic sanctions, conflict resolution and peace building. She is deeply committed to addressing pressing human rights challenges and is actively conducting research on violations across Asia. Ameema is deeply committed to empowering youth to play an active role in global decision-making. During her time at the University of Tokyo, she founded the Effective Altruism University of Tokyo Group, a platform dedicated to fostering informed action on critical global challenges. By connecting students with evidence-based strategies to address pressing issues, this initiative underscores her belief in the transformative potential of collective youth engagement.
