Federica Saliola

Federica is a Lead Economist in the Jobs Group of the World Bank and co-Director of the World Development Report 2019 The Changing Nature of Work, which investigates the impact of technology on labor markets.  As a Lead Economist in the Jobs Group, she is responsible for a program that focuses on the impact of public policies and private investments on jobs. She also leads the World Bank’s reports “Transforming markets for more and better jobs in the MENA region” and “The Future of Jobs after COVID-19”. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, including studies on firm productivity, global value chains, and the impact of regulation on growth and competition. She has also contributed to a number of World Bank reports. She holds a PhD in Economics and a Laurea in Political Science from the University of Rome, la Sapienza.
