Lisa Palmer

Anneliese (Lisa) Palmer is a journalist, author, research professor at the George Washington University’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences; and adjunct lecturer in Environment & Society at Georgetown University. Her book, HOT, HUNGRY PLANET: The Fight to Stop a Global Food Crisis in the Face of Climate Change (2017), foretells the food security, environmental problems, and equity issues we are seeing play out today. As an author and a long-time journalist and writer focused on sustainability, Palmer has covered the environment, food security, education, climate change, and science for national and international media outlets, with a record of creating award-winning and impactful work. Her her work has appeared in publications such as the Nature family of science journals, The Guardian, Nautilus, The New York Times, The New Republic, Slate, and many others. She is a graduate of Boston University and of Simmons College in Boston.
