Marzieh Darling-Donnelly is a graduate student at the McMaster School of Globalization Studies, where her research focuses on the role of social movements, particularly youth-led movements, in shaping the development of international institutions. Her work explores how grassroots mobilization influences the evolution of global governance and the institutional responses to transnational challenges.
She has worked within the United Nations system as a youth delegate and has spoken at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) and (COP27) and the United Nations High‑Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. In addition to her UN engagement, she has worked with a range of civil society NGOs both within and outside UN institutional frameworks. Her work is centred on strengthening global governance structures and advancing institutional pathways capable of addressing complex global challenges.
