    Guy Sinclair

      Guy Fiti Sinclair is an Associate Professor at University of Auckland Faculty of Law (from July 2021). He holds first degrees in History and Law from the University of Auckland and a Doctor of Juridical Science (PhD equivalent) degree from New York University School of Law. He previously worked for over ten years as a corporate and commercial lawyer in a variety of private practice and in-house roles. His principal area of teaching and research is public international law, with a focus on the law of international organisations, the history and theory of international law, and law and global governance. His book, To Reform the World: The Legal Powers of International Organizations and the Making of Modern States (Oxford University Press, 2017), won the European Society of International Law Book Prize in 2018. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Journal of International Law and was appointed by the Foreign Minister of the Government of New Zealand to the Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control. His current research, focussing on the institutional formation of international economic law, is supported by a Marsden Fast Start Grant from the Royal Society of New Zealand.
