    Magnus Jiborn

Magnus Jiborn is currently the Head of Research at Global Challenges Foundation. Previously, he was researcher at Lund University Department of Economic History and Sustainability transformations over time and space. His research focused on principles for environmental impact accounting, for example national carbon accounting, in the context of international trade, and the relation between environmental impact and economic growth.

Together with his colleagues at Lund University, Magnus developed a new indicator that enables countries to keep track on how their exports and imports affect emissions abroad, to secure that domestic climate mitigation efforts are converted into reductions of global emissions and not offset by carbon leakage. In the past, Magnus served as Chair of the Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society – the world’s oldest and Sweden’s largest peace organization.

Magnus holds a PhD in Philosophy from Lund University.
