Jacob Pantling

Jacob Pantling is a PhD student at the Centre for Climate Repair in the University of Cambridge researching techniques to restore Arctic sea ice. During his undergraduate degrees in Engineering at Cambridge he realised that whilst emissions reductions are essential, they are insufficient to prevent the effects of climate change. He now researches whether pumping seawater through the sea ice to bypass its insulating effect can thicken Arctic ice to protect it against global warming. Jacob is passionate about helping to make wider audiences aware of the climate challenges we face and how climate repair may be part of the solution.
